Review - Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

The Marc Jacobs Beauty line debuted in 2013, and apparently the lipstick formula kinda sucked. The lipsticks have been reformulated, and this shade was too pretty to pass up, so I picked it up a little while ago!

Wrist swatch of Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is described as a "baked rose" shade. It's definitely a rose pink, leaning somewhat mauvey. (Not exactly sure how one bakes a rose.) Application is smooth and the lipstick is pigmented, needing only one swipe for true color, as you can see from the swatch. The finish is satin. The lipstick itself has no discernible scent, great for those who are sensitive. The formula is very comfortable on the lips and not drying. I experienced no feathering or bleeding, and I wore without a lip liner (though with a lip primer.) I did, however, experience some transfer during the day, and needed to reapply around lunchtime.

The packaging is one of those fantastic magnetic closure bullets, which keep my interest for far too long with clicking it open and closed. The bullet itself is plastic, which feels a tiny bit cheap, especially the top portion. A little unfortunate, given the price tag of the lipstick. Thankfully, the lipstick itself isn't lacking.

Pros:
  • Smooth application
  • Good pigmentation
  • Comfortable formula
Cons:

  • Not the most long wearing formula

  1. This is such a pretty shade! I don't know why I haven't been attracted to any of the MJ line. Maybe that has to change soon?
